Geography

Culveria is a very large nation, larger than you might easily imagine. One could take a motorcar from the Eastern shores of Nova Kadoria and drive for days before crossing the border into Nova Trent. However, there are places in Culveria where even motorcars don't function, as once a girl crosses the Mississmatri River that divides the Nova East from the rest of the country, she will only be able to drive light weight buggies, and even then, only in the provinces of Ligeia in Titania. Any further South or West and these vehicles simply stop working and a girl must make it on horseback or wagon.

There are no bridges over the Mississmatri River, as it's far too wide at even the most narrow spot. There is a scattering of ports along the river to get girls across, but most Culverian girls will never cross the great river. Up in Northern Culveria, the Mississmatri river breaks into a series of grand lakes, as wide as a sea in some places. Along the Northern shores of Culveria, Nova Trent and Ligeia share a border undivided by water.

To the East of the Mississmatri a series of high-tech, high-speed rails, connects the provinces, so girl will only spend a few hours going from the tippytop of Nova Kadoria to the sunny South shores of Nova Quirinelle. A further hour by high-speed ferry will get her to the warm sandy beaches of the Nova Infra Quirinelle Islands. A determined girl, with just the right knowledge of train schedules, could wake up for breakfast, hop on a train and have a late Niqi island luncheon, splash around in the surf for a bit, and make it home before the stroke of midnight. Train stations in Eastern Culveria are numerous, nearly any city will have a grand station, and most towns will have a train platform where a train will probably stop once or twice a day.

Central Culveria, to the West of the Mississmatri River, but to the East of the Maya Mountains, the provinces are connected by much humbler railways, and ride great coal powered steamtrains, and there are significantly less stations available. Even by rail, it can still take many days, and several transfers, to get from Ingallelle to Usheri. Most Central Culverians tend to stay in their hometowns and local cities because of this, and it's very rare to see them in Eastern Culveria.

Further West, you'll find the Maya Mountains dividing the nation with her formidable peaks. A brave and industrious girl could cross them, but few do, as the peaks are dangerous and the lands to the West are wild and vast. The way to the wilds of Puritania and Amazonia can be crossed through Regentia, but few maids are permitted to pass through the walled royal city.

A particularly unusual fact about Culveria (for Tellurians at least, as it's a perfectly usual fact for Culverians) is that the sun rises in the West and sets in the East in Culveria.

There are thirteen provinces that are part of Culveria, if you inculde the lands of Amazonia that reach out towards the Maya Mountains, which every Culverian does include, even if the whole of Amazonia isn't considered part of Culveria. Amazonia is symbolically a part of Culveria and is represented by a stripe on her flag.

Amazonia
Amazonia isn't technically part of Culveria, but the blurry borders of Amazonia nudge up against Culveria's Puritania and Regentia, and in those blurry borders Culverians dwell, thus the areas of Amazonia that borders Culveria are considered an honorary providence of Culveria.

Amazonia is vast beyond belief, a maid could spend her whole life travelling from one end of it to the other, so it's mere speculation about what lies deep in Amazonia. It's rumored that other nations, much like Culveria, bloom forth from the borders of Amazonia.

Puritania
Past the Western mountains you'll find yourself in the dense woods of Puritania. Cut off from most of the provinces, Puritanians are some of the most secluded citizens of Culveria. There are many different ways to worship Dea in the deep woods of Puritania. The borders of Amazonia and Puritania are not as clear cut as some of the other province borders in the land, and the dense woods and sparse population of Purtania doesn't make it easy to find the edges. It is believed that the first Culverians came out of Amazonia to make the woods of Puritania their home.

Clothing in Puritania is simple and austere, often in dark, natural, colors, with sharp bright white details. Bonnets and veils that cover the hair nearly completely are common here, making the difference between blondes and brunettes not nearly as obvious as they are in other provinces.

Notable cities in Puritania include Roanoake, Herafleur, and Janestowne.

Regentia
Regentia is the shining crown of liberty in Culveria. This is where the Queen of Culveria lives, along with the other ladies in her court, in a castle ringed by high white stone walls in the city of Georgiaton. Ladies from other provinces are frequent visitors to the walled city of Regentia where they discuss ruling and law-making.

Hair is frequently powdered blonde-white, regardless of sex, to signify the spiritual power they wield. Court dresses are elaborate and mandatory, despite which province a high ranking Culverian might hail from, although each province has their own aesthetic twist to their court dress.

Invitations to the Georgiaton Castle are very rarely extended to the commonmaids of Culveria, but once a year, a single school girl from each province is chosen to attend the Dependence Day ball hosted by the Queen. This is a highly coveted invitation and competition to be the winning girl can get very fierce. Each province has their own way of choosing a girl, which ranges from essays, to merits, to feats of heroinism, to fate, depending on the province's own Council of Education.

Usheri
Usheri lies along the Southern coast of Culveria, ranging from the foreboding Maya mountains in the West, to the wide Mississimatri River in the East. The lands of Usheri are warm and pleasant for most of the year. Ladies in Usheri live lives of luxury and wide satin gown, straw bonnets, and broad puff-sleeves are popular fashions. Picnics are practically Usheri's official sport of the province.

Ingallelle
The Northern shore of central Culveria is mostly taken up by Ingallelle, which is known for it's wide golden plains. Small settlements dot the open landscape, and a girl can ride days in a wagon to get from one settlement to another. Often small family groups work individual, self sustaining, farms. Life is harder in Ingallelle than many of the other districts because of the sparse population, so girls tend to wear simpler frocks of gingham and calico in natural fabrics. Ladiesfield is the capital of Ingallelle, and stands behind a strong wall made of great, rustic, logs.

Quincie
Quincie is the largest province in the country of Culveria, taking up much of the central land. Much of Quincie is wide, painted deserts that gradually make way for the golden plains of Ingallelell to the North, and the lush fields of Ushueri to the South. Quincie is a wild and dangerous land of adventure and outlaws, it is also the land of bifurcs, or bifurcated skirts. Horseback is the number one mode of transportation here. No homey wagons of Ingallelle, or dainty carriages of Usheri, just the saddle, so bifurcs in rough wearing thick fabrics are worn in Quincie by the rougher girls who travel the lands. But Quincie is a land of many things, and the girls in the bigger cities, who don't need to travel by horseback too often, are fond of frothy satin and frills.

Gemstone is, perhaps, the most famous city in Quincie, as it's known for both luxurious living by those who made their fortunes searching for treasure in the desert, as well as adventure and danger by those who hope to make their fortune outside of the law.

Ligeia
To the North of central Culveria, along the Western shores of the Mississimatri River, lays the province of Ligeia, the gilded province. The cities of Ligeia are cities of leisure and delicate, intricate architecture. Ligeia and Titania are two of the only Western provinces in Culveria where motorcars work, but none of the Eastern cars are transported over the Mississmatri, so only Ligeia and Titania made motor buggies are used, although the horse and carriage is still the most popular mode of transportation.

The ladies of Ligeia prefer wide skirts with ruffled bustles and nipped-in corseted figures. The Gibsonian girl is the epitome of Western fashion and she hails from the city of Gibsonia in Ligeia. Garden City is the capital of Ligei, and is known for many fine play houses, as well as the eponymous famed gardens of Ligei.

Titania
Titania maintains a close relationship with Ligeia to the north and Nova Vintesse to the east, despite being separated from the Nova province by the Mississmatri, but here the river is the narrowest, and it only takes a little longer than a day by boat trip. Girls of Titania favor shorter, less voluminous, skirts and more naturally shaped corsets, so that they can lead active lives, both physically and politically. Many famous political figures and fightresses for liberty hail from Titania. It is the most modern of the Western provinces. Aliceville is the capital of Titania.

Nova Vintesse
Nova Vintesse is the province of pippsies and Art Neo. High rise sky scrapers line the streets of the biggest cities of Vintesse, all decked out in the most stylish Art Neo architecture, of course. Nova Vintesses is known for it's duality of both care free, decadent, bashes that go on for days, as well as it's adventurous (and a bit dangerous) Mob element. Fashion wise, the Nova Vintesse girl is always on top of the biggest thing, and in her case that's frequently the swingiest skirt hems and the bobbiest hair.

Nova Trent
Nova Trent is the province of glamour and elegance. Silverwood is nestled in the rolling hills of Nova Trent, a city famous across Culveria for kinnies and kinnie-stars alike. Plantinum blonde bombshells from Silverwood are known far and wide. Even the brunettest girls can reinvent themselves as blonde bombshells in Silverwood! Slinky satin and silk gowns, itty-bitty arched eyebrows and the kissiest rosebud red lips are what the most fashionable bombshells in Nova Trent are known for. Aviation is a hobby of the most daring brunettes in Nova Trent, but their aeroplanes don't tend to work very well West of the Mississmatri, so they tend to jaunt all about in the skies of the Eastern coast of Culveria. Swallowsdale is the capital of Nova Trent.

Nova Kadoria
Nova Kadoria extends to the far north of Eastern Culveria, and is generally known as the thriftiest province in the land. It stretches far into the Northern forests, where tending victory gardens are popular ways to spend your time, down to the port-city of Gotham, where skyscrapers reach high into the sky and the hustle and the bustle of the city is enough to sweep a girl off her feet! Girls of Nova Kadoria tend to dress practically, but still very stylishly with a bit of a militaristic and sharp style. Nova Kadorian brunettes are said to be the bravest around!

The Avendale College is located along the scenic seaside, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life, in Northern Nova Kadoria. A quick pip on the high-speed rails of Nova Culveria brings school girls to the big city of Gotham in no time. They can often be spotted, by the bunches, in their crisp green and purple uniforms, among the stacks of books in the big city's numerous libraries or huddled over cups of cofee and plates of cakes in the city's even more numerous cafes and pâtisseries.

Nova Quirinelle
Nova Quirinelle is one of the boppinest provinces in all of Culveria. Situated along the southeastern shores of Culveria, Quirinelle is known for being a warm and sunny land of both elegance and homeyness. Cute manicured yards with a blonde mummy in frothy petticoats tending to a garden, a brunette mummy shining her hotrod up in the garage, while 2.5 bouncing bubbles of babies play Quinciegirls on the lawn with pop guns is the quintessential Nova Quirinelle scene!

But it's not just jellymolds and dinner parties in Nova Quirinelle, because Nova Quirrie is also the heart of Rock and Roll! Charmland is Nova Quirinelle's musical answer to Nova Trent's Silverwood, and many famous brunette crooners and blonde poppies record their hit records in Charmland.

Nova Infra Quirinelle Islands
The tropical isles of the Nova Infra Qurinelle Islands, known colloquially as Niqi, are nestled in the sapphire waters off the coast of Nova Quirinelle. Niqi is one of the only provinces in the nation where going out stockingless is considered perfectly acceptable! This has lead to even shorter skirts being the fashion, in bright tropical colors, and Niqi girls often decorate their perfectly coiffed hair with the big tropical flowers native to the sandy beaches. Fun in the sun is a way of life along the sapphire waters of Niqi. Sapphoria is the capital of the Nova Infra Quirinelle Islands, and is located on it's own island named after the capital city.
